(I’ve been writing about and following Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families’ call to Mind the Store— and get products with toxic chemicals off store shelves. We’ve applauded the progress of Walmart and Target on this issue, but have noticed that Walgreen has remained silent. Please join us in asking them to make a plan to phase out the sale of harmful products and protect their customers. Below is a guest post from our friends at Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families.)
Like you, I’m frustrated that toxic chemicals linked to cancer and birth defects are commonly found in products I buy for my family.
Toys. Shampoo. Cleaning products. When will it end? Here’s how we can start.
Walgreens is the nation’s largest drugstore chain, and they have the power — and moral responsibility — to ensure that the products they sell do not contain dangerous chemicals harmful to our health. Help us send them a message!
Last year, we launched the Mind the Store Campaign to challenge the top ten retailers to get tough on toxic chemicals. You’re gonna love this – retailers are beginning to listen! In recent months, both Target and Walmart have announced new chemicals policies. While it’s not enough, it’s a big step in the right direction.
Unfortunately, Walgreens has yet to respond to letters from our campaign, and is lagging behind other retailers.
That’s why I’m asking for your help today — they need to hear from you!
Join me and the rest of the team at Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families to call on Walgreens to Mind the Store and protect our families from unnecessary dangerous chemicals.
Will you take a minute to send them a message?
Yours for a toxic-free future,
Mike Schade, Mind the Store Campaign Director
